Rates & Policies

Joyous Racket, LLC Student Policy, Summer 2014 v1

  • Rates for lessons are: (in-studio lessons) $30 for 30 min., $45 for 45 min. and $60 for a 60 min. lesson, (in-home lessons) $54 for 45 min. And $72 for 60 min.
  • Monthly tuition is due on the 1st of each month. You will receive an invoice from us before the 1st of the month. There will be a $15 late charge for tuition received after the 10th of any month.
  • First month’s tuition, registration deposit, and material’s fee (if applicable), must be paid PRIOR to registering your monthly time slot.
  • The registration deposit is equal to tuition for two lessons.
  • A one-month advance notice is required in writing if you decide to stop taking music lessons. If this requirement is met, and tuition has been paid on time, you will be issued your deposit within 15 days of your last lesson. The one-month notice is also very helpful in establishing closure with the student and teacher. If you choose to not continue music lessons, your time slot will not be held for you.
  • Make-up lessons: If you cancel your lesson time with 24 hours notice, you may schedule a make-up lesson with your teacher during that calendar month. Make-ups will only be given, if your teacher has an opening and it is scheduled by you (not by us or our administration) within that period. The make-up lesson cannot be extended to the following month.
  • If lessons are missed for a serious extended illness or family emergency, they will be considered on an individual basis. All lessons cancelled by the instructor will be made up. Unfortunately, we cannot offer credits or allowances for all other missed lessons. Missed lessons will not be credited to the next month.
  • Lessons will be held on public snow/inclement weather days. If the weather is really terrible, I will call each student and cancel lessons for the day.
  • We recommend weekly lessons for our students as it supports a consistent practice schedule.
  • Please be prompt in arriving for your lesson. Even if you arrive 10 minutes late, the lesson will still end at the scheduled time, so as to accommodate lessons scheduled in the next time slot. As long as you are not the last student of the day, it is fine for you to wait at the studio after your lesson. Likewise, it is also fine for you to arrive early and wait quietly.
